Prof Development Partners
We collaborate with corporations and other nonprofits in the community to enhance the professional development experience at The Stride Center. Corporate partners host Mock Interview workshops, where accomplished professionals give our students valuable feedback on their interviewing skills. These partnerships give our students the opportunity to receive quality one-on-one coaching, leading to a greater impact and greater success.
Networks are critical to success – yet our clients report having limited or no professional networks. To help our clients connect directly with potential employers, we partner with Wardrobe for Opportunity to offer corporate-sponsored interview clinics. These events provide the opportunity to practice interviewing with up to four different professionals who offer constructive feedback and help the client with their interview skills. Clients gains confidence in their interview skills and learn the importance of having a network to support them.
Wardrobe for Opportunity offers our low-income jobseekers image workshops, professional clothing and professional image coaching to the men and women of our community. These services help our clients gain a more positive sense of self and empower them to become confident applicants and successful employees. Our students also participate in the Style for a Steal Event, which gives them the opportunity to supplement their career wardrobes by purchasing professional clothing at a low cost.
In addition, we host our own Mock Interview Events with corporate partners such as: Microsoft, Chevron, Robert Half International, and Contra Costa County Health Services. Please contact us if you are interested in collaborating with us to host a Mock Interview event.
