The Stride Center doesn’t just train its students in IT – it prepares them in every aspect for a new career. Stride understands the barriers students face to finding a good job. That’s why we know technical training is not enough. Stride operates a “high touch” program. Please click on a photo below to see what students and graduates are saying about The Stride Center.
The Career Navigation skills are integrated directly into the core classes (A+ and Coding 99) at The Stride Center to ensure our students are equipped with the necessary skills to get and maintain a job in ICT. All students in these core classes receive 1:1 coaching from our Employment Services Department.
Alumni are encouraged to keep in contact with our team to ensure career growth beyond their first job.
Technical training is just the beginning at The Stride Center. Through one-on-one coaching sessions with each student the Employment Services team assists them in developing their professional selves. They learn the importance of showcasing their skills through their resume, how to network in-person and through social media, and how to search for jobs using job board search engines. They are prepared to successfully interview for entry-level and higher-level opportuntities.
Life Skills training provides our students with the tools necessary to maintain long term employment. They understand the importance of time management, not only in their professional lives, but also the impact it makes in their personal lives. Stress and anger are emotions we all experience, our students are equipped to effectively manage them. Our graduates continue to reach higher and look at the professional world as a continual learning experience.
